Welcome to Decarbon Debrief, a Weekly Download on the Global Energy Transition
Be the low-carbon expert in the room.
I'm Todd Bush. I've worked in energy, mining, and finance for start-ups and large enterprises like Chevron, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Toyota, bp, Union Pacific, and many more.
I'm attracted to big problems, practical digital solutions, and data-informed decision making. The first energy SaaS company I founded with a friend was acquired by Westwood Global Energy, an energy market specialist based out of the UK.
I started Decarbonfuse as a newsletter and later the business, Fuse Markets, to help people understand the rapidly changing energy transition and decarbonization landscape. Decarbonfuse's daily newsletter tracks the money, policy, and innovation shaping our low-carbon future, but I also know there are interested readers out there who are wanting something with a little less time commitment.
That's my hope for this newsletter, Decarbon Debrief: A place for more casual readers to feel the excitement in this space, to get a quick weekly rundown on the most essential information, while also providing an outlet for more context, analysis and conversation.
I'll be distilling all the week's news into a single lead story, often with some context and analysis, while briefly rounding up the other stories of note and spotlighting local projects. When research reports and external analysis deserves your attention, I'll guide you through it. This space moves fast, and so the format may change week to week. I'm excited about the opportunity to bring in other experts for tone-setting conversations about this global movement, and to have a forum for more conversation with readers, too.
Many of my readers are decision-makers in the industrial and investment space, utilizing this project to stay abreast of developments in this fast-moving space. My hope across all of my Decarbonfuse projects (including this newsletter) is to facilitate conversations between different stakeholders, providing on-roads for interested parties and actionable intel for people who've already bought in.
